The Jam Jar Fairy

Fascinated by humanity’s obsession with trying to capture, appropriate and preserve the elusive qualities of beauty and freedom, the Jam Jar Fairies series combines the tangibility of a domestic jam jar with the ephemeral illusion of projection. Originally commissioned and developed for the Royal Shakespeare Company as an installation in which 8 fairies create a polyphonic composition by knocking on the glass, the Jam Jar Fairies have now become stand alone video sculptures. Each jar features a holographic projection of Kristin that has been filmed and captured by Davy. Framed in a small cabinet the fairies can be bought, hung on your wall and easily switched on and off via a remote control. A selection of 9 fairies is available in editions of 25.
