For Christmas 2011 Davy & Kristin McGuire designed and directed a stage adaptation of Howl’s Moving Castle for Southwark Playhouse in London. It featured Stephen Fry as narrator and an original music score by Fyfe Dangerfield.
Howl's Moving Castle is a theatrical experience using cinematic elements and opening up theatre to a fantasy genre. The show's set is a paper cut-out castle which looks like it could spring from the pages of a pop-up book. It serves as a blank canvas for digital projections and animation which together with live interactions from the stage actors create a mixed media reality and tell a fantastical story.
